WebBackground: Information regarding the progression of high-grade partial thickness rotator cuff tears (PTRCTs) is scarce. We aimed to assess the clinical outcome and the conversion rate to full thickness tears in patients with high-grade PTRCTs who underwent nonoperative treatment and to determine the factors associated with tear progression. WebThe rotator cuff is a slow healing structure due to poor blood supply. Healing occurs at a rate of 10% per month. There are two major post-operative risks, #1 re-tear and #2 frozen shoulder. Re-tear is by far the greatest risk and therefore protection of the repair is by far the focus of the rehabilitation process. Definitions:
